Yung Brad

A passion filled introvert that loves the sound of hard hitting 808’s, clever kick patterns, fast ticking hi-hats, and melodies. The sound of Yung Brad also known as YB will leave you questioning whether he is a Rap Artist, R&B/Soul singer, or a Popstar. Throughout the music his listeners gain life experience, advice, enjoyment, encouragement, and inspiration. Regardless of the category or label you might to try to place on him, Yung continues to surprise his listeners with his introverted lifestyle allowing him to create an extroverted experience for those like him to enjoy.

Growing up in the urban community of (South) Memphis, TN, YB learned to overcome the pressures of his environment and the struggles of poverty. He learned to survive with the things he had and realized at an early age nothing is given but everything is earned. His determination for change caused him to want better for himself than what his parents could provide. Yung saw himself in a better position in life as an adolescent before the music entered his life. He would daydream about one day leaving his circumstances and taking everyone with him. Moreover, he would struggle with how he would make his dream become a reality.

The older brother of Yung Brad would visit their home on the weekends and always talk about how he got done recording a new song with other artists in the neighborhood. Yung asked his older brother if he could teach him how to rap. Yung’s older brother helped him get started by telling him to take a tape and pop it into the cassette player, and rap over it while listening to the radio. Yung quickly found his love and passion for creating music and expressing himself by being inspired by his older brother. Yung Brad later formed the group (2RawENT) and label 2Raw Entertainment which currently releases the music projects of Yung Brad and various artists.

Yung Brad recently released ‘Keep It G’ Sept. 2nd of 2022 and a new release ‘Pain = Rain Ft. ShaylonV’. In comparison, ‘Keep It G’ was a long-awaited release in which Yung dedicated to his listeners for their patience while awaiting his return. ‘Pain = Rain Ft. ShaylonV’ is a more heartfelt single which Yung uses personal experiences from past and present to convey the current trial and tribulations of the world during these trying times. He is set to release new singles for his listeners and fans on all streaming platforms every 4-6 weeks. Yung Brad has developed a sound that uniquely fits his voice through crafting his own instrumentals which further enhances his sound.

Yung Brad is a Memphis, TN resident where he continues to evolve with his music. He is known for delivering real life situations through his musical content with versatility and style. He is musically described as a well-rounded artist that can adapt and captivate any genre of music he features on. Yung Brad is in a category of his own in which people label him as an artist ahead of his time. Yung Brad has featured on several music projects with various artists throughout his career. Dj Smilez

Christopher Simpkins AKA DJ Smilez was born and raised in Pensacola, FL. He fell in love with music at an early age and admired turntable-ism. He never thought he would be able to do what the other DJs were doing until he heard Robert Earl Davis AKA The Late and Legendary DJ Screw for the first time. He looked up to DJ Screw as a DJ and inspired him to give it a try. DJ Smilez learned how to Chopp and Screw through a DJ named DJ Prew. DJ Prew taught DJ Smilez how to Chopp and Screw on a computer. DJ Smilez started Chopping and Screwing in 2002. DJ Smilez wasn't that good at his art starting off. People were throwing his mixtapes on the ground and stomping on them but that did not discourage DJ Smilez. He continued to study and master the art of Chopping and Screwing and picked up a little bit of a fan base. Later, DJ Smilez stopped DJ'ing for about 4 years and met a couple of guys that had the same vision and direction. They became good friends and began to talk about music. DJ Smilez decided to start Chopp and Screw again with an artist by the name of Sharpe The P. Then he came across a couple of artists that you all know by the names of Yung Brad AKA YungMemphis, Big Dog, and LBZ. They began to start the movement of 2Raw ENT.
